Associate of Applied Science
Health Information Technologists and Managers are professionals that assist in the support of patient care teams by mastering medical billing, coding, health information management systems, and records management processes. Health Information Techs typically work in doctor’s offices, hospitals, specialized healthcare facilities, or health insurance companies.
Students will take part in a 144-hour internship that involves real-world experience through work-site, remote position, or project-based study.
Students who wish to specialize in Medical Billing and Coding should pursue the Medical Billing and Coding (MB&C) certificate and Health Information Technology (HIT) Associates of Applied Science degree. All required courses taken for the MB&C certificate are applied to the HIT AAS.
