Start a career helping people make positive behavioral changes in their lives by becoming a fitness trainer, community health or recreation leader or health club professional.

Pima’s Fitness and Wellness Specialist Certificate includes an internship so you get hands-on experience at an approved work site. Job growth over the next 10 years is projected to more than double the national average for all occupations.

Academic Options

Students planning to transfer to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise and Wellness, or Athletic Trainer should follow the Associate of Arts Degree. Students planning to transfer to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science should follow the Associate of Science degree.  Meet with department faculty or an advisor to plan courses.
