Pharmacy Technology Certificate
Eligibility for Program Entry
In accordance with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy, students must be at least 18 years of age to participate in pharmacy technician training and clinical experiences in Arizona in order to meet state regulations, safety standards and facility policies.
Applicants are encouraged to complete assessments in reading, writing and math prior to entering the program. This assessment is not intended to prevent entry into the program but to identify strengths and connect students with resources that support their success.
Applying for Program Admission
- Apply to Pima.
- After applying to Pima, Meet with an Enrollment Advisor to check your enrollment steps “MyChecklist.”
- Meet with Program Advisor Sylvia Loustanau Romero, sloustaunau@pima.edu, for program information.
- Complete the Program Application via email to pcc-phtadmissions@pima.edu.
Applications are accepted between July 1 and Oct. 1 for Spring semester. Applications are accepted between March 1 and June 1 for Fall semester.
Program entry is on a first-come, first served basis during the application window.
The Program Director will notify applicants on the status of their submitted application.
Eligibility for Licensure and Clinical Practice
Arizona State Board of Pharmacy requires you are 18 years of age or older, have an Arizona level 1 fingerprint clearance card, show proof of high school diploma or equivalent and maintain health insurance.
Pharmacy Technology Certification Board (PTCB) candidates must complete a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program in order to be eligible.
Prospective students with a criminal background should contact the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy to learn if they are eligible to obtain licensure before enrolling in the program. They also may not be permitted in a clinical practice setting, depending on the rules and regulations of each particular site.
