To apply to Veterinary Technology program, download and complete the application here. Applications are due to the Veterinary Technology program by noon on November 1st.
It is important to check your Pima email account regularly as program information will be communicated to you via your Pima email address.
To be a successful applicant, you must:
- Meet the Pima Community College requirements for admission as a credit student.
- Have completed (or have underway) with the grade of C or higher the Veterinary Service Specialist Certificate.
- Competencies completed:
- REA 091 or higher or placement into REA 112 (REA 091 or retest)
- Math competency must be met (MAT 092 or 92LB, MAT 106, BUS 151 or retest)
Selected candidates must provide the following before starting the limited admissions AAS degree:
- Required to hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Have proof of personal medical insurance.
- Have proof of rabies immunization.
- Have proof of tetanus toxoid immunization from the last 8 years.
- Pass a urine toxicology exam.
- Meet the physical requirements of lifting at least forty pound animals; restraining dogs, cats, exotic animals, horses, cows, birds, etc.; have the ability to manage any allergies to the above mentioned species; stand for long periods of time; bend and lift; have manual dexterity to assist in surgery, and have the ability to communicate with veterinarians and clients. This is a physically and emotionally demanding occupational field.
- Reliable transportation to off site labs and clinical sites.
