College Updates

Faculty Listening, Learning Sessions with Chancellor Nasse Oct. 14, 15
As Pima’s new Chancellor, Jeffrey P. Nasse, Ph. D., settles into his role, he is engaging in a structured process of “listening and learning” during his first 100 days. He is reaching out to Pima students, faculty, staff, Governing Board members and community partners to hear their perspectives on the College.

Two more in-person events are scheduled for faculty and adjuncts.

  • 3:30-4:30 p.m., Oct. 14: East Campus faculty, L101, East Campus
  • 3:30-4:30 p.m., Oct. 15: Desert Vista Campus faculty, F123, Desert Vista Campus

These sessions will not be recorded or live streamed.

Employee Handbook Leave of Absence Policy Revision Proposed
Based on employee input, the All Employee Representative Council (AERC) proposes this revision to the Leave of Absence policy in the College’s Employee Handbook. The revised policy is posted for a 21-day comment period, available through the @Work tab in MyPima.

The draft policy is here, or on MyPima in the Employee Handbook heading in the box on the left. You can submit feedback via the Feedback Form linked in the same box.

Fulbright and Refreshments: A Midday Recharge for Your Global Aspirations

During Fulbright and Refreshments, noon Oct. 21 in LB-153 at Downtown Campus, meet Fulbright Outreach Officer Keegan Scott of Washington D.C., to learn about Fulbright opportunities.

Fulbright is the U.S. government’s flagship program for international educational and cultural exchange.

A similar event with Scott, being planned for the same day at University of Arizona, will be open to Pima. Details are to be announced. To RSVP or learn about the U of A event, contact Ricardo Castro-Salazar, rsalazar@pima.edu.

Learning Communities Virtual Info Session Oct. 11, Submit Interest Form by Oct. 18
