Faculty Listening, Learning Sessions with Chancellor Nasse Virtual Session Added
 As Chancellor Jeffrey P. Nasse settles into his role, he is engaging in a structured process of “listening and learning” during his first 100 days. He is reaching out to Pima students, faculty, staff, Governing Board members and community partners to hear their perspectives on the College. 

At the request of faculty, the Chancellor’s team has added one virtual listening session for any full or part time faculty member.  It will be 5:30-6:30 p.m., Nov. 6. Zoom link.

Internal Auditor Fall 2024 Newsletter
 The Office of the Internal Auditor Fall 2024 Newsletter is available now.

Complete PAG Travel Reduction Program Survey by Oct. 31
During October, College employees must participate in the annual Pima County Association of Governments (PAG) Travel Reduction Program Employee Survey. The online survey, mandated by state law and county and city ordinances, is a means to understand use of alternative modes of transportation by College employees.

Pima must attain a 50 percent response rate from each campus/site by Oct. 31. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

Instructions:

  • Click this link to go to the survey.
  • On the first page, the password is PCCNMC for everyone.
  • Answer the 10 questions to the best of your knowledge (submissions are anonymous) and click the submit button.

Please complete the survey based on your current situation (work-from-home, work on-site, or a mixture of both) so that it properly reflects the work-related commute you typically make each week.

Employee Handbook Social Media Guidance and Best Practices
The All Employee Representative Council (AERC) proposes the Social Media Guidance and Best Practices in the College’s Employee Handbook. The purpose of this guidance is to summarize the guidelines and best practices for the use of and engagement with social media as employees of Pima Community College. This is not a policy; instead, there are PCC Policies and State and Federal Laws listed throughout this guidance that an employee could trigger by their use or engagement on social media. 

It is posted for a 21-day comment period, available through the @Work tab in MyPima.

The draft guidelines are in the box on the left, under the Employee Handbook heading. You can submit feedback via the Feedback Form linked in the same box.

Climate Action and Sustainability Speaker Series Oct. 25
Join PCC’s Office of Sustainability for the latest session in our Climate Action and Sustainability Virtual Speaker Series, where we explore a wide range of critical topics and local issues affecting our planet. This series is designed to inspire and equip individuals with the knowledge needed to tackle urgent climate challenges. The session will focus on “Energy Solutions for a Sustainable Future.”

OED Has Training for Pima Reports and WebI Reports
Organizational Effectiveness and Development (OED) is offering training sessions through MyCareerCenter for Pima Reports Fundamentals (FY25) and Virtual Web Intelligence (WebI) Interactive Reports Training (FY25). To sign up for a training:

  • Log into MyPima.
  • From the MyCareerCenter homepage, input the name of the training in the search bar.
  • From the results, click on the class you are interested in, then “Select Session” to the right of the session you wish to attend.

The Faces of First Year podcast, featuring PCC's Peer Mentors, will be streamed live on Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. through the @PimaStudentEngagement YouTube page.

A total of 100 volunteers are needed for Arizona STEM Adventure on Nov. 22. College employee and student volunteers will guide 4th-8th graders around Northwest Campus, assist exhibitors, and help with set up/clean up parking. Sign up by Nov. 13: Arizona STEM Adventure 2024

The Access and Disability Resources (ADR) Office and the Office of College and Community Cultural Connection invite you to join us in celebrations of the range of disabilities that are recognized during October, including Dyslexia Awareness Month, Blindness Awareness Month, Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Dwarfism Awareness Month, Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, Spina Bifida Awareness Month, World Cerebral Palsy Day, National Braille Week, White Cane Awareness Day, Invisible Disabilities Week.

  • Looking for ways to increase equity and access? Please, work with ADR to increase equity and access across the College. One simple step you can take is to consider what barriers our students and community members with disabilities may face in your setting, then consider how to remove those barriers. Barriers may be physical (e.g., items placed in access aisles), hidden in the curriculum (e.g., unreadable PDFs, and videos without captions or visual descriptions), attitudinal or institutional (e.g., no Universal Design for Learning).
    Let’s include disability in conversations around equity and justice, and ensure that disability is part of our diversity conversations. For more information, contact ADRhelp@pima.edu.
