West Campus Summer Closing

Our new Center of Excellence for Health Professions at West Campus is currently undergoing construction. While construction is going well, we have become aware of an issue that will impact West Campus this summer.

Our contractors have informed us that power will need to be shut down for approximately one month in order to install electrical components in the new center and perform related electrical infrastructure upgrades throughout West Campus. Because this work includes shutting down health and safety systems such as fire alerts and phones, West Campus will need to close until this work is completed.

This closure is planned to begin on July 8, 2024, and is expected to run approximately 4 weeks. We have begun working with Deans to identify classes that will be impacted so that they may be rescheduled on another campus. In addition, staff impacted by this closure will be working with their departments to determine the best alternative work location for the duration of this project.

We understand that this level of disruption is challenging, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this work. As any other information becomes available, we will quickly share it with you.
