The one dozen students to be honored are in the latest cohort to complete Pima’s Practical Nurse Certificate Program. Parents, children, husbands, wives and partners will pin the students with their nursing pin during the certificate presentation.
Pima’s Division of Nursing starts one cohort each fall and spring. In the 48-week program, students spend about 45 hours per week in class, labs and studying. Upon completion of the program, a student is eligible to take the NCLEX-PN® exam to become licensed as a practical nurse (LPN). Pima’s program is approved by the Arizona State Board of Directors for Community Colleges.
The event concludes with a candle lighting ceremony and recitation of the Nightingale Pledge.
