9 Pascua Yaqui Tribe members earn Nursing Assistant certificates

Tucson, AZ – Nine members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe were honored May 30 for completing the Pima Community College Center for Training and Development Nursing Assistant Program.
The pinning ceremony was held the morning of May 30 on the reservation at Itom Mahtawa’ Apo, 5100 W. Calle Tetakusim. CTD Nursing Assistant Program Coordinator Carol Williams, F.N.P., M.S.N., B.S.N., R.N., was the master of ceremony and tribal member Jose Alvarez offered a blessing.
This is one of the trainings Pima offers in partnership with the tribe’s Career and Technical Education program. The program is supported in part by the Native American Career Technical Education Program (NACTEP), U.S. Department of Education and Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act.
