October 25 deadline for Pima’s Earn to Learn Scholarship

Qualified students receive $8 in aid for every $1 saved

October 2, 2019

Tucson, AZ -- Students registering for classes at Pima Community College in Fall 2020 are eligible to receive as much as $4,000 in scholarships through Earn to Learn, the largest matched-savings scholarship program in the U.S – if they apply by the program’s Oct. 25 deadline.

Earn to Learn combines scholarships, financial education and college success coaching to help low- and moderate-income students graduate from college with little or no student loan debt. Eligible students who save up to $500 and are admitted to Pima are eligible for matching funds of up to $4,000 to pay for tuition, fees and school-related expenses, an $8-to-$1 match.

The program, the first Earn to Learn program at a community college, is open to current Pima students and new-to-higher-education students who are enrolled at Pima in Fall 2020. Scholarship opportunities are limited and scholarships will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beyond income-qualification, Earn to Learn Scholars must complete financial literacy training and the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students also are expected to complete 30 credits by the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Students who transfer from Pima can remain in Earn to Learn if they attend one of the state’s three public universities. A student may be part of the Earn to Learn program for up to four years.
