PCC Fashion Design Presents Steeped in Style - An Afternoon of Tea and Fashion, Oct. 12
Tucson, AZ - Pima Community College’s Fashion Design program, in collaboration with the African American Museum of Southern Arizona and Seven Cups Fine Chinese Tea, is delighted to present “Steeped in Style,” a captivating afternoon celebrating the artistry of fashion design and the vibrant heritage of that culture.
This one-of-a-kind fundraising event will spotlight remarkable talents of students from Pima Arts’ esteemed Fashion Design program. Attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in an array of delightful experiences:
- Fashion Show: Witness a display of designs styled by the talented Pima Fashion Design students, alongside elegant handmade hats designed by Toni Ham’s Designs by Toni Ham, currently featured in the African American Museum of Southern Arizona’s exhibit, “Your Crowning Glory.”
Professional models provided by Models Melange of Tucson will showcase these creations, which include upcycled and styled fashion inspirations from the Toni Ham collection as well as pieces from Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona. Students from Pima instructor Hope Simpara’s Intro to Fashion Design class envision design inspiration and creative styling
for the looks that will grace the catwalk.
- Tea Tastings and Pairings: Delight your palate with elegant tea tastings and expert food pairings presented by Seven Cups Fine Chinese Tea and Pima’s Culinary Arts Program.
- Silent Auction: Participate in a silent auction featuring select millinery designs from Toni Ham’s collection, with proceeds dedicated to supporting the educational initiatives of the African American Museum of Southern Arizona.
- Musical Accompaniment: Pima Arts graduate Jace Noldon, an exceptional music producer and owner of Filiocht Productions, will DJ the event, featuring a mix of jazz and R&B.
- Mistress of Ceremonies - Lupita Murrillo, a recently retired KVOA reporter, will grace the event as the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Your participation will directly contribute to the growth and development of the Fashion Design program at Pima, as well as the invaluable educational initiatives of the African American Museum of Southern Arizona.

Pima’s Fashion Design program provides students with a comprehensive education in the fashion industry, blending foundational skills with cutting-edge training.
