Pima Community College Named Top Online School in Arizona by Newsweek for 2025

TUCSON, AZ — Pima Community College (PCC) has been recognized as the top online learning institution in Arizona by Newsweek in its annual list of America’s Top Online Colleges for 2025. The prestigious ranking, developed in collaboration with research firm Statista, highlights colleges and universities that provide exceptional online education opportunities.

“Being recognized as Arizona's top-rated online learning institution by Newsweek reflects our commitment to excellence in online education at PCC,” said Michael Amick, PCC’s Chief Online Learning Officer. “This recognition is a testament to our dedicated team of instructional designers, faculty, and staff who work tirelessly to create engaging, high-quality online learning experiences for our students.”

Pima Community College earned the #60 spot on the national list, which was based on a comprehensive survey of more than 10,000 students across the country. Survey participants were individuals who had completed online courses as part of a degree program or to gain new skills. Key factors considered in the ranking included the quality of support services, affordability, student satisfaction, and the likelihood of recommending the school to others.

PCC has seen consistent growth in online enrollment in recent years. Currently, PimaOnline offers 24 fully online programs, serving approximately 9,800 students. For the upcoming Spring 2025 semester, nearly 47% of the College's total enrollment is participating in online courses.
