No Tuition or Property Tax increase in Proposed 2025-2026 Pima Community College Budget
College releases budget information in advance of Public Hearing and Special Meeting June 9
Tucson, AZ – Pima County Community College District has released its proposed budget information for the fiscal year 2025-2026, in compliance with Arizona Revised Statute 15-1461.01.
The College’s proposed budget includes no increase to tuition or to the property tax levy.
“I’m so pleased to work alongside our PCC Governing Board in putting together a thoughtful and forward-looking budget plan for next year,” said Chancellor Dr. Jeffrey P. Nasse. “By holding the line on tuition and taxes, we’re sending a clear message: opportunity at Pima Community College remains within reach. In doing so, we reaffirm our commitment to student success and to delivering the highest value possible to the people of Southern Arizona—keeping PCC accessible, stable, and strong.”
The College will generate approximately $2.8M in additional revenue for fiscal year 2026 due to growth and new property. A levy-neutral assessment will lower the primary tax rate from $1.2530 to $1.2176 per $100 of assessed valuation. The College’s secondary tax rate is proposed to continue at zero as the College has no outstanding general obligation debt.
Details concerning the College’s annual budget and property tax rates will be published in the Arizona Daily Star on May 23 and 30, 2025. Video of the May 14, 2025, presentation to the PCC Governing Board regarding the proposed fiscal year 2025-2026 budget is also available.
The College’s publicly elected five-member Governing Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2025-2026 budget on Monday, June 9, 2025.
