PCC will host a recognition ceremony on Thursday, April 30 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Art Gallery, Downtown Campus
Tucson, AZ — Pima Community College (PCC) proudly announces that its business students earned first place at the 2026 Arizona Community College Excellence (ACCE) Case Competition, continuing the college’s strong tradition of success in this prestigious statewide event.
The competition, hosted by the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management on April 10, featured 11 teams from community colleges across Arizona, including Arizona Western College, Glendale Community College, Phoenix College, and Pima Community College.
“I’m incredibly proud of our Business students,” said Vivian Knight, Department Head of Business at PCC. “Their professionalism, teamwork, and creativity stood out throughout the competition. This experience highlights both their talent and the strength of our programs in preparing them for real-world success.”
Five PCC teams competed, showcasing exceptional business acumen, teamwork, and presentation skills. The first-place team (Team Purple) included students Hector Maytorena Abreu, Jack Ogle, Pricila Miguel, and Joshua Travis, under the guidance of faculty advisor Cory Pearson.
PCC’s continued success in the ACCE Case Competition highlights the strength of its Business Department. Over the past 11 years, PCC teams have earned eight first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, and two third-place finishes, underscoring a sustained commitment to excellence.
Faculty advisors played a critical role in preparing students for the competition, mentoring five teams through intensive case analysis and presentation development. Special recognition goes to Jane Hall for her leadership in coordinating and organizing the teams.
In celebration of this accomplishment, PCC will host a recognition ceremony on Thursday, April 30 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Art Gallery (2nd floor of the CC Building) on the Downtown Campus. College leadership, and team members will be in attendance.
