Paralegals are indispensable to attorneys and are often considered the attorney’s “right hand.” As a paralegal, you must work under the supervision of a licensed attorney and may not provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law.
Pima’s Paralegal degree and post-degree-certificate can prepare you to be a paralegal in two years or less.
Legal Paraprofessional (LP) license
Have you heard about the new Arizona Supreme Court Legal Paraprofessional (LP) license opportunity for paralegals? Students completing the Paralegal Associates of Applied Science (AAS) or Post Degree Certificate (PDC) and that take the appropriate coursework may qualify for licensure as a LP. Accreditation
This program is approved by the American Bar Association. As a paralegal, you must work under the supervision of a licensed attorney. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law.
You have the option to schedule both day and evening classes in a traditional classroom environment, as well as a variety of asynchronous online classes and blended/hybrid and remote synchronous instruction.
A minimum of nine semester credits or the equivalent of legal specialty courses must be taken through synchronous instruction.
