Fire Science

Pursue your dream of becoming a firefighter and giving back to the community! In Pima’s Fire Academy, you will receive the academic and hands-on, real world training necessary to become a certified firefighter in Arizona.

Our instructors, who currently work in the field, are industry experts who combine relevant theory with real-world experience.

The Certificate program will prepare you to meet specific entry-level certifications including Firefighter I and II, Hazardous Materials First Responder, and Wildland Firefighter.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, based on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) resources, will provide you with a broad in-depth study of the science and technical aspects, organizational structures, and policies and procedures related to the fire service. Credits from the AAS degree may transfer toward a Fire Academy FESHE-approved bachelor’s degree or other program.
