2 Pima campuses to host Arizona SkillsUSA competitions
Contests at West Campus Feb. 15, at Downtown Campus March 8

Tucson, AZ – On Feb. 15 and March 8, Pima Community College will host various Arizona SkillsUSA competitions for high school students.
On Feb. 15, the Visual Arts Department hosts several Region Six SkillsUSA art competitions at West Campus. Approximately 125 students will compete in Photography, Graphic Design, Screen Printing and Film and Video categories. Nearly 100 of the students are in the Photography competition. Catalina and Amphitheater high schools also are hosting regional SkillsUSA competitions Feb. 15 and 16, and Catalina will host the awards ceremony. Media are welcome to the competitions.
On March 8, Pima’s Welding Program at Downtown Campus hosts the Region Six SkillsUSA Welding and Welding Fabrication competitions for nearly 50 students.
Each of Arizona’s six regions has a set number of top-performing individuals or teams that advance to compete in the SkillsUSA Arizona Championships April 12-13 in Phoenix. Only first-place winners there qualify for the national SkillsUSA Championships June 24-28 in Louisville, Ky.
