12 adult learners inducted into National Adult Education Honor Society

TUCSON, AZ -- Pima Community College Adult Basic Education for College and Career will host its 18th Annual Adult Education Honor Society Induction Ceremony March 4 at 2 p.m. at the El Pueblo Liberty Learning Center.

Twelve students will be inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society and will be recognized for their achievements by Pima’s Chancellor, Lee Lambert, and a representative from U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s office. 

The 12 inductees are: Agustin Bucio, Jasmin Fernandez, Ben Goodin, Leonor Grace, Sarah Lo-Harrison, Antonio Ramirez, Rafael Sanchez, Phil Si-Ufanua, Sylvain Toure, Nicolette Vargas, Chunyan Ellen Wang and Richard Ziegler.

For nearly 50 years, PCC Adult Basic Education for College and Career has played a critical role in promoting adult literacy in the community. Each year, it helps more than 6,000 adult students who need to strengthen their basic literacy and math skills, improve their English, study for a High School Equivalency diploma, and prepare for college and career.
