Award Amount: Up to 12 credits per semester (24 credits per year) for a maximum of 2 academic years (renewal requirements must be met).

The Pima Excellence Tuition Award is available to Arizona residents that are new, continuing or returning Pima Community College students who have not earned a bachelor degree. 

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 2.99 (unweighted GPA for high school seniors) or an average GED test score of 145-164. You must be a resident of Arizona, eligible for general (in-state) tuition, and have not already received another tuition waiver or similar form of aid. Students must be enrolled at PCC for the Fall 2025 semester.

Preference may be given to current high school students who have participated in dual enrollment courses offered at your high school or joint technical education district (JTED) campus through a partnership with Pima Community College and successfully completed a minimum of 3 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 2.99 at Pima Community College.

Award Amount: Up to 16 credits per semester (32 credits per year) for a maximum of 2 academic years (renewal requirements must be met)

The Pima Merit Tuition Award is available to Arizona residents that are new, continuing or returning Pima Community College students who have not earned a bachelor degree. 

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (unweighted GPA for high school seniors) or an average GED test score of 165 or higher. You must be a resident of Arizona, eligible for general (in-state) tuition, and have not already received another tuition waiver or similar form of aid. Students must be enrolled at PCC for the Fall 2025 semester.

Preference may be given to current high school students who have participated in dual enrollment courses offered at your high school or joint technical education district (JTED) campus through a partnership with Pima Community College and successfully completed a minimum of 3 credit hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at Pima Community College.

2023-2024 PCC Summer Tuition Award Terms and Conditions


Deadline: May 9, 2025 (Application is now closed. Awards are prioritized by available funds, those that appplied first and submitted a complete application.)

Award Amount: Up to 12 credits (non renewable, non transferrable)

The Pima Summer Tuition Award is available to Arizona residents that are new, continuing or returning Pima Community College students. 

Tuition Award Requirements:

  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (minimum unweighted 2.5 GPA for current high school seniors)
  • Actively pursuing a degree or certificate at Pima Community College as of May 9, 2025
  • Applicants must be classified as Arizona residents at Pima through the lawful presence verification
  • Enrolled as of May 9, 2025 in a minimum of 3 credit hours (maximum award covers up to 12 credit hours) for summer courses
  • Changes to your enrollment during the award period may result in an adjustment to your tuition award amount:
    • Tuition award will only cover general in-state tuition for summer courses, including the associated student services fees, semester processing fee, and technology fees.  Books, other course fees and differential tuition are not covered and must be paid by the student.
    • This award is not renewable, it is not refundable and it is a one time award for summer. The award is not transferable to a different semester or institution.

You must be admitted to Pima Community College to access the scholarship application.

Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) assists eligible student-parents by subsidizing the cost of childcare at the Desert Vista Child Care Center or other Department of Economic Security (DES) childcare programs that have an agreement with Pima.

The program will accept age birth through school-age. Eligible parents must:
  • already be DES childcare-eligible
  • be Pell Grant-eligible
  • take at least 12 credit-hours and
  • maintain at least a 2.0 grade-point average

About: Pima’s Earn to Learn Scholarship - Established in 2013, Earn to Learn operates the largest and most successful matched-savings scholarship program in the nation. Earn to Learn combines scholarships, financial education and college success coaching to help low and moderate income students graduate from college with little or no student loan debt. Eligible students who save up to $500 and are admitted to PCC are eligible for matching funds of up to $4,000 to pay for tuition, fees and school-related expenses, an $8-to-$1 match. If you have been impacted as a foster youth or a student experiencing homelessness you may be eligible for a matching $500 donation. Contact outreach@earntolearn.org to get additional information.

The program is open to both current and new students who will be enrolled at PCC in Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025. Beyond income-qualification, Earn to Learn Scholars must complete financial literacy training and the upcoming 2024-2025 FAFSA (available in December 2023). Students also are expected to complete a minimum of 18 credits (but encouraged to consider full time enrollment) by the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Students who transfer from Pima can remain in Earn to Learn if they attend one of the state’s three public universities. A student may be part of the Earn to Learn program for up to two years at Pima, then for up to an additional three years at one of the partnering universities (ASU, NAU, UA) for students planning to transfer.

Arizona Community College Workforce Scholarship Program at Pima Community College

This scholarship program ended on September 30, 2024. No additional funding is available at this time.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • No scholarship application will be required.
  • Due to limited funding, awards will be applied to the students enrolled in eligible programs and meeting all the eligibility requirements at the time of the award.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater (for returning students and current students only).
  • Must be classified as Arizona residents at Pima through the lawful presence verification.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 4 credit hours for consideration for the Summer 24, or a minimum of 13 credits for Fall 24; however, priority will be givien to students enrolled full time during the Summer 24 or Fall 24 term. A minimum hour enrollment exception may be considered for students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technology Certificate, Phlebotomy Certificate, or Truck Driving Training Certificate programs.
    • Those with higher credit enrollment will be prioritized through June 16, 2024 for the Summer 2024 term.
    • Those with higher credit enrollment will be prioritized through July 8, 2024 for the Fall 2024 term.
Award Amount: 
  • Award has a value of up to $1500 and may be applied to Summer 24 or Fall 24 based on funding availability. Therefore, the actual amount paid may vary from the total value amount of the scholarship displayed on your MyPima Award section.
  • The award will cover tuition and fees only.
  • The award is not refundable and it is not transferable to another semester or institution.

About: The All-USA Academic Team seeks to honor outstanding students from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines to hold up as representatives of all outstanding students enrolled in associate degree/certificate programs.  

PCC Deadline: Open for consideration at PCC! The PCC All-USA Academic Team submission deadline is November 12, 2024 by 5pm for consideration.  

  • In order to participate and be considered by PCC as an All-USA Academic Team nominee you must submit your application by the PCC deadline of November 12, 2024 by 5pm (AZ Time), no exceptions.  Please note that PTK has a different deadline for submission that is after November 12, 2024.  However,  you will not be considered as a nominee if you submit after PCC's internal deadline.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following requirements.

  • Be enrolled through December 2024 in a minimum of six (6) semester credit hours [or nine (9) quarter credit hours] of associate degree, college-level coursework at the time of application.
  • Hold a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0 on all college-level coursework completed in the past five years.
    • Include all transcripts, fall 2019 – present.
    • GPA is evaluated at the time of application, and no courses can be marked as incomplete. Student must maintain a 3.50 or higher GPA through the fall 2024 semester to remain eligible.
  • Be on track to earn an associate or a bachelor's degree (or the equivalent of a U.S. associate or bachelor's degree).[1]
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 36 semester (or 54 quarter) college‐level credit hours completed at or transferred into an associate degree or certificate program by December 31, 2024, and 48 semester (or 72 quarter) college‐level credit hours by August 31, 2024.[2]
    • To be considered for the Coca‐Cola Academic Team, the student must be enrolled at least part‐time at a college for the fall 2024 semester. Proof of enrollment will be requested.
    • To be considered for the New Century Transfer Pathway Scholarship, the student must be enrolled at least part-time at a college for the fall 2024 semester. Proof of enrollment will be requested.
    • To be considered for the New Century Workforce Pathway Scholarship, the student should be entering the workforce prior to fall 2024 after completing a certificate or associate degree.
  • Not have previously been nominated for the All‐USA Academic Team or the Coca‐Cola Academic Team.
  • Hold permanent or temporary residency in the country of the college the student is attending or possess a visa considered appropriate by the college. Please see the help article or application for acceptable documents verifying proof of citizenship.
    • Students who attend a college in the United States do not need to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
    • Students attending colleges outside of the United States need to be members of Phi Theta Kappa and may only apply for the New Century Pathway Scholarship programs.
  • Have a college record free of suspension, probation or other serious disciplinary action.
  • Not have a criminal record, or if a convicted felon, must have all conditions of sentencing, including parole/probation, completed.

About: The Spouses of Military Veterans Tuition Scholarship was established by the state of Arizona in accordance to A.R.S. §15-1809 and appropriated funds to participating colleges and universities in the state of Arizona. The scholarship is a last dollar scholarship intended to cover all tuition and fees after all other gift aid has been issued to the student. If tuition is paid in full by other financial assistance considered gift aid then the Spouse of Military Veterans Tuition Scholarship will no longer apply as there will be no balance due. This is a non-refundable scholarship.

Award Amount:

  • The award amount is up to eligible tuition and fees during the award period.

Eligibility: 

  • Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit hour at Pima Community College

  • Applicants must be admitted as regular degree-seeking students taking courses applicable to their program of study at Pima Community College

  • Provide a copy of your marriage certificate as proof of your spousal relationship to an honorably discharged veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States

  • Provide a copy of your spouse's DD-214 (member 4) as proof of their honorably discharged veteran status of the Armed Forces of the United States

  • Applicants must be classified as Arizona residents at Pima through the lawful presence verification

  • Completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current academic year

  • Applicants must agree to complete a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) release form to authorize Pima Community College to release educational records and financial aid information to the Arizona Board of Regents as required by the participation agreement.

Renewal Requirements

Renewal of the scholarship will be considered based on availability of funding and that the student continues to meet all eligibility requirements as listed above during the academic year. Reapplication is required annually.

About: The Single Parent Pathways to Success initiative is funded through the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family. This grant offers financial assistance to single parents seeking career training and certification for in-demand careers and provides access to personalized advising, career services, and free, family-friendly workshops and events.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following requirements.
  • Live in Pima County
  • Enroll in a qualifying short-term training program
    • Applicants must meet individual program eligibility requirements to enroll
  • Be a single parent with a dependent child under the age of 18*
*This age requirement does not apply to a dependent child with a disability.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Funds are applied to the student’s account; no cash is provided directly to recipients.
  • Financial assistance is for credit-courses in Fall 2024 and non-credit (PimaFastTrack) programs beginning in the Summer/Fall 2024.
  • The award is non-transferable to another semester or school.
  • The award is non-refundable and only applicable for eligible tuition and fees.
    • If you are eligible for other tuition assistance such as federal student aid, scholarships, etc. you may receive a refund from the other tuition assistance programs if applicable. Please contact scholarships@pima.edu with questions.
  • Changes in your enrollment during the award period may result in an adjustment of your scholarship. The amount of the award will be adjusted to cover the exact cost of tuition and fees.
  • Funds expire 60 days after they are awarded - a separate application would be required for funds to be reinstated.

PCC Foundation Scholarships

Pima alumni and other generous donors throughout Arizona create and contribute to a variety of scholarships. Programs change by semester. You can apply now for current offerings through Pima’s Scholarship Portal ScholarshipUniverse.

External Scholarships

Pima’s Scholarship Portal lists Pima, Pima Foundation, and many local and national scholarships for which you can apply. We suggest beginning your search with regional/local scholarships, as there’s less competition, and then broadening to national scholarships.

Outside donor scholarship funds are available through community groups, organizations and companies throughout the state of Arizona. We suggest you ask about scholarships from your employer, your parents’ employer, your church, your bank, any other club or organization you are involved in.

If you are awarded a scholarship from an external donor, your funds will be sent either to Pima or to you.

Scholarship checks should be made payable to Pima Community College and should include the recipient's name(s) and student ID number(s) on the memo line. Please attach the applicable award letter and/or the completed Scholarship Designation Form. If scholarship checks are received without specific instructions, they will be processed as pass-through scholarships for the first term of the award.

Note: making checks co-payable between the student and the college are not accepted and will be returned to the sender.

Please allow 7-10 business days for the funds to be processed and applied to student account balances.  Scholarship disbursements may occur one day prior to the start of the term. For specific disbursement dates visit the Disbursements and Refunds page.

More information

  • If funds are sent to Pima, the Scholarship Office will be notified before the funds are sent to Financial Aid and posted to your account.
  • For awards sent to you directly, you may deposit the check in your account, and you must report the aid to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Any scholarship checks made out to both you and Pima, Pima’s Accounts Receivable Services/Student Accounts will not accept it. The donor will have to reissue a check made payable only to Pima Community College.
  • Any scholarship checks received without an applicable award letter that stipulates the enrollment and award requirements, and/or the completed Scholarship Designation Form will be processed as pass-through scholarships for the first term of the award.

If you are a student recipient of a non-PCC scholarship, contact the scholarship donor to verify that the funds have been mailed to PCC. If your donor says the funds have been sent to PCC, please call the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at at 520.206.4950, or email scholarships@pima.edu
