Navigating college life can be challenging, and we understand that there are times when keeping up can feel overwhelming. That's why Pima is here to support you every step of the way.
Explore our Academic Advising Resources to discover the help you need to be successful. Your goals are within reach!
The following recommendations and resources are available to help you achieve your goals:
- Talk with your instructor: Go to class, ask questions, send an email, call, or visit your instructor during office hours (check the syllabus).
- Meet with your assigned Program Advisor. They can connect you to college resources and discuss educational goals.
- Visit the Learning Center for free tutoring on a wide range of subjects.
- Meet with a Counselor for help with study skills, test-taking skills, and career planning, including personal challenges.
- Student Success courses are available that can help you with study skills, testing skills, critical thinking, and math success skills. These are listed as STU classes in the Schedule of Classes.
- Check out Access and Disability Resources for accommodations for students with documented disabilities.
- Visit the Library for a variety of services.
We highly recommend you talk with your Advisor before dropping or withdrawing from a class. Dropping or withdrawing from classes may have a negative impact on your academic progress and financial aid eligibility.
Helpful Tips
- If you seek to drop or withdraw from a class, making changes by the deadline is required.
- Drop and withdrawal deadlines for your classes can be found on your MyPima Academics tab in the My Schedule section.
- If you do not withdraw by the deadline and stop attending class, you will remain in the class and possibly receive a failing grade, which will be posted on your academic transcript.
Maintaining good academic standing while completing your classes is essential to your academic success. We encourage you to:
- Use our support services
- Meet with your Advisor
- Use free tutoring
- Talk with your instructor each semester
Using these resources may prevent you from failing to complete your class or earning a failing grade that can negatively affect your grade point average (GPA), academic standing, Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress, and more.
