Learn Job Skills and Finish School at the Same Time
How Can We Help?
Adult Basic Education for College & Career
Want a better job but still need help with your reading, writing, math, English, or computer skills? Pima’s Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (IBEST) program can help. With IBEST, you can train for a new job, earn a career certificate, and get your High School Equivalency (HSE), if you don’t already have it. The best part? You can do all of this in one program — saving you time and money.
IBEST is right for you if:
- You want a better job and need more skills
- You don’t have a high school diploma and want to earn your GED®/HSE while training for a career
- You already have a diploma, but want extra support while learning
Why Choose IBEST?
- Two goals at once: get job training and your HSE together
- Get extra help from teachers and advisors — free of charge
- Finish faster by learning job and basic skills at the same time
- Help with applying for funding for tuition, books, and supplies
How IBEST Works
IBEST classes have two teachers: one teaches job skills, and one helps with reading, writing, math, or English skills. You only pay for your college classes — the IBEST support is free.
Degrees & Certificates
With IBEST, you can train for a career while building your basic skills. Choose the program that fits your interests, and we’ll help you gain the education and hands-on experience to step into a good job.

Common Questions
Do I need a GED® or HSE to start?
No. You can start without one; we’ll help you earn it while you train for your career.
Can I receive financial aid without a high school diploma?
Yes. If you pass the Accuplacer test or earn six college credits with a C or better, you may qualify.
What’s the cost?
You pay regular tuition for your credit classes. The extra IBEST help has no cost to you.
How can I get help paying for school?
Many IBEST students get help with funding from Arizona@Work (One Stop) and FAFSA. We’ll help you apply for programs you qualify for.
