Pima has several ways you can enjoy or participate in music, theater and dance both on campus and around Tucson.
Attend a concert or show
The Center for the Arts presents a wide-ranging schedule of theater, music and dance performances by college groups and community and professional troupes.
Perform
Meet new friends and hone your musical, acting, or dance skills by joining one of many performance ensembles.
Any Pima Community College student can audition for a musical ensemble, theatre or dance production, most of which meet as courses.
- Wind Ensemble: features small wind and percussion ensembles, soloists, as well as classics for full band – performs four concerts a year.
- Chorale: a large mixed-voice choir - performs four concerts a year.
- College Singers: a more select mixed-voice a cappella group – performs four concerts a year with the Chorale.
- Orchestra: a chamber orchestra repertoire with high school/college students and community adults – performs two concerts a year.
- Jazz Ensemble: features jazz standards from a variety of periods in big band style – performs two concerts a year.
- Theatre Arts: four productions are staged each year, including a children’s show, a fully staged American musical and two modern dramas. Audition information is posted at the Center for the Arts.
- Dance: features ballet, tap, modern and jazz styles – performs two concerts a year.
