Upward Bound

Are you a high school student currently enrolled in one of the high schools listed below and curious to know if college is for you? Come and join Upward Bound to find out!

The TRiO Upward Bound program is a federally funded college prep program designed to serve low-income, first-generation college students.

Who can participate?

This program is designed for freshman or sophomore students attending selected high schools, who meet federal income guidelines, who need academic assistance to graduate high school and pass AZMerit/ACT and whose parents have not graduated from a four-year university.

What does the program offer?

If you are accepted into Upward Bound, you will participate in the program for the remainder of your high school career. The Upward Bound program offers:

  • Summer programs
  • Tutoring and career counseling
  • College prep workshops and campus visits
  • Financial aid advising and scholarship searches
  • Assistance with college applications
  • College classes
  • Field trips and cultural events
  • Parent workshops
