Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE)
The Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE) helps community colleges discover why some entering students persist and succeed and others do not. SENSE asks students to reflect on their earliest experiences (academic and services-related) with the college. SENSE Codebook
- All Entering Students: Benchmarks | Means | Frequencies
- Part-Time & Full-Time Entering Students: Benchmarks | Means | Frequencies
Special-Focus Modules
In addition to the SENSE questions, students were asked to answer two additional sets of items:
This set of items delves into the nature of students' relationships with others (instructors, students, and staff) at the college in the first three weeks.
This set of items was designed to learn more about the paid work that students perform and how it intersects with their academic decision-making and behaviors.
Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE)
CCSSE is an assessment tool that asks questions to assess institutional practices and student behaviors that are correlated highly with student learning and student retention.
- All Students: Benchmarks | Means | Frequencies
- Part-Time & Full-Time Students: Benchmarks | Means | Frequencies
Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE)
The Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE) elicits information from faculty about their teaching practices, the ways they spend their professional time, and their perceptions of students' educational experiences.
CCFSSE reports enable participating institutions to view faculty perceptions of student engagement alongside student responses.
